Services Performed
- Found that the vehicle needs a battery. Also found that the ignition lock cylinder is either damaged or steering column is causing the key not to turn. Need to remove panels and ignition lock cylinder to do further diagnostics to determine the issue.
- Checked ignition key, key is working and communicating. Found that the ignition coil transponder ring was not reading. Replaced transponder. Found that the ignition switch would still not turn. Removed ignition lock cylinder, disassembled and cleaned. Found debris built up inside the lock cylinder. Re assembled the lock cylinder assembly to see if the key would turn. The key now turns over. Started vehicle and test drove. Key is now working at this time. If this happens again, ignition lock cylinder/ tumbler assembly will need to be replaced along with programming a new key.
- Remove and replace battery
- Locksmith charge for testing key and checking key cut.
- Tow bill
